SPEEDWAY, IN – An LPGA event promoting women in tech is advertising itself on one of the state’s biggest stages. The Indy Women in Tech Championship, which will take place in September at the IMS’ Brickyard Crossing Golf Course, will be the primary sponsor of Zach Veach’s car at this year’s 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500.

Harry Hardy with Octagon, the sports and entertainment agency marketing the championship, says the Indy 500 brings a huge opportunity to “announce yourself.”

The Indy Women in Tech Championship presented by Guggenheim will take place September 4-9. The event will feature nearly 150 of the LPGA’s top players vying for a $2 million purse. The championship will raise funds for the Indy Women in Tech foundation, created to provide awareness and funding for women and tech initiatives. Many of those efforts focus on robotics, STEM events and career transitioning for those re-entering the work force.

The foundation was established by Guggenheim. Chief Executive Officer Daniel Towriss says sponsoring the event “allows us to shine a global spotlight on meaningful robotics and career transition programs that will develop our work force through education and job training. to support Indy’s growing resume for tech innovation.”

Organizers of the event have begun registering volunteers for the event. You can find more information by clicking here.

Veach is driving the No. 40 Chevrolet for AJ Foyt Racing.
